英語?

RosiePacking

Yesterday Nippon Express came to pick up two boxes filled with a haphazard assortment of items for my three month trip to Japan.  Packing for Japan, or frankly any trip more than a couple of weeks in length, seems to break my brain a bit.

I have always prided myself in being a rock star packer… until about a week ago.  The phrase “deer caught in the headlights” comes to mind.  If it was Europe I wouldn’t worry about leaving clothing behind.  If it wasn’t for three months I wouldn’t worry about whether I should have brought that book to read or not.  Do I really need all three of my camera lens?  How many shoes do I really need (FYI – the answer appears to be 5 pairs….probably….)?

And yet, the boxes got packed.  Friday I will head off on an adventure like no other I’ve done.  I’m still about 60% over the moon excited and 40% absolutely horrified.  In the end I know that this will be an amazing journey and hopefully a life changing opportunity.

Too bad I couldn’t just tape that box up and pack Rosie up for Japan.

Ok Abby, so I firgured out how to respond. I hope you are settled in ok now (I’m sure you have, I’m a little slow in responding). Yes, I miss your smiling face, but I did enjoy reading your blog. It will have to do until you return to the Northbrook office.
