As promised – my favorite way to take in the beautiful sunsets in Santorini.
Note that I am not being compensated in any way for this post; these are my genuine experiences and feelings.
My friend Claire and I booked a sunset cruise with Santorini Sailing (http://www.santorinisailing.com/). Truly I could not picture a better way to take in the water and sunset. They pick you up from your hotel and drop you back off at the end. Booking can be done via email.
We spent around 4.5 hours out on a sailboat with 10 other guests. Beverages (wine and beer included) are provided from the start. The crew could not have been friendlier – stories, tips for the island…and surprisingly amazing cooking skills. That meal included some of the best mussels I’ve ever had to be honest, chicken, pork and solid sides as well. Everything cooked on the grill on the back of the boat by one of the crew. Very solid meal.
We had 2 swimming stops as well, and went past both the red and white beaches.
Then the crowning moment: the sunset. You are out on the water, not a care in the world, with the most amazing view of the sunset dotted with the occasional sailboat. Could not have painted a better picture. Looking forward to sharing pictures from the big camera with you all!
